DentoFit is a spin out company from Risoe/DTU, the Danish Technical University, and build on solid materials science within the fields of polymers, nano-materials  and zirconia technology. 

DentoFit was founded in 2004, with the mission of developing the next generation of low shrinkage dental composite material.

DentoFits technology proposal has been simple, but ingenious: to add a filler which expands as the polymer resin contracts during curing, thus compensating for the polymer shrinkage. The chosen filler has been meta-stable zirconia – changing crystal structure from tetragonal to monoclinic structure by a martensitic phase transformation – giving a controllable expansion of 4.4 vol. %. 

DentoFits technology platform is protected by a number of global patens and the first real proof of concept has been reached.

During the development work, DentoFit has gained a unique knowledge about zirconia nano-fillers and are today recognized as an expert within this field.
